I’ve never been happy with one title.
I started my online blog about 25 years ago. I made the first iteration of it when I was still at school, using something called Homestead (Which I think still exists today), and it was shite. Like total dogshit. Every button was a separate image file, despite all looking exactly the same. Absolutely pointless way to do things. I had to use that though as I didn’t bother to learn how to make them properly.
Bouncing forward a few years I started to use Dreamweaver, which was a breath of fresh air and opened me up to so many more possibilities. At this point I did decide to teach myself HTML as… well you kinda had to, otherwise you were stuck making the same old shit that Homestead had led me to. After that I ditched Dreamweaver and started just hardcoding really lo-fi versions of my site. I liked them, they were easy to maintain and they didn’t need loads of fancy code. (Read this as “Chris did not want to learn PHP or CSS”). For the record, I did learn CSS thank you!
Around 13 years ago, at the end of 2012, I moved over to Wordpress, which was far easier than anything I’d used before. I spent a lot of time writing stuff for that version of my site. That was the first version of it that was called +22 Agility. Before that it had always just been twoheadedboy.co.uk. That was still the address, but it wasn’t the name for it. I’d never been happy that it didn’t really have a name, just a location, which is why I decided to name it.
All that brings us to today. We’ve moved to Squarespace. Why? A fresh start, a chance to clear out all the crap, and maybe a space to get back to basics and actually documenting a little bit of my life.
I’ll see you around.
